Sony WH-H910N

Sony's best wireless headphones in 2021

The WH-H910N is a Sony wireless headset that is very comfortable to wear. It supports high-resolution music playback and features dual noise cancellation for an excellent listening experience.

It's a given that the Sony WH-H910N is very comfortable to wear. Compared to previous generation models, the amount of padding has been increased to relieve pressure and make the ear cups more cushy. In addition, the silicone headband allows this headset to adapt to all head shapes. These headphones are on a par with high-end models in terms of acoustic performance for a much lower price.

25mm drivers are hidden inside the ear cups, designed like Sony's premium 40mm drivers. Despite the smaller size, Sony claims that these 25mm drivers can generate the same pressure as the 40mm models, using very rigid aluminum domes and soft urethane diaphragms to achieve comparable performance across the range. Sony WH-H910N battery life is 35 hours on a single charge without noise cancellation (NC) and 30 hours with NC enabled.

Sony WH-CH710N

Sony's best entry-level wireless headphones

The Sony WH-CH710N wireless headphones may not be the brand's best offering in terms of sound quality. However, it boasts solid audio performance and effective active noise reduction for the price.

79,99 £ on Amazon

The Sony WH-CH710N is aimed at good sound lovers looking for a cheap Sony wireless noise cancelling headset. As a result, the headphones are really good, but not great either. Indeed, the audio performance has robust bass and crisp treble, but the rendering seems a bit too sculpted to us at times. That said, you still get above-average sound quality given the price point at which it's offered.

This Bluetooth 5.0 compatible headset supports Bluetooth AAC and SBC codecs, but not AptX. A pity. As far as noise cancellation is concerned, the Sony WH-CH710N does a good job of attenuating the low-frequency rumbles you might get on a plane or train. They're a little less effective with higher frequencies; and you'll still hear a lot of high-frequency noise.

Sony WH-1000XM4

Sony's best high-end wireless headphones

The Sony WH-1000XM4 openly challenges the Bose Headphone 700. The combination of high quality Bluetooth codecs, exceptional sound, improved noise reduction and long battery life make it a must have.

We had the Sony WH-1000XM3 vs Bose QC 35 II rivalry. From now on, we'll have the Sony WH-1000XM4 vs Bose Headphone 700 duel. A hair above the American headphones, the Japanese headphones offer excellent noise cancellation and a sound quality that leaves you speechless, all in a light and comfortable body. Although not much different from its predecessor, and therefore a bit bulky, the Sony WH1000XM4 introduces a number of features. These include multipoint pairing, DSEE Extreme upconversion, conversation awareness, and automatic play/pause using a built-in sensor.

Simply put, if you can afford it, the WH-1000XM4 is the best possible choice in Sony's catalog, if not all brands combined .While the Sony WH-1000XM4's battery life has not been improved over its predecessor, you'll still get a substantial 30 hours with noise cancellation on and about 38 hours with noise cancellation off.

Sony WH-1000XM3

The Bose QuieComfort 35 II rival

The Sony WH-1000XM3 is getting old, but don't underestimate it. It's still a match for Bose's best-seller! And it's still among the best wireless headphones of any brand.

200 £ on Amazon

With this headset, Sony has done very badly to the first versions of the Bose Headphone 700. The American manufacturer even had to keep the aging Bose QC35 II in its catalog to compete! It must be said that the Sony WH-1000XM3 has brought its share of innovations, especially in terms of design. Indeed, compared to the WH-1000XM2, the WH-1000XM3 is lighter and benefits from a better adjustment, including touch settings. Note also that the fast charge mode made its appearance with this model, 15 minutes of charge offering up to 8 hours of music playback.

While visually almost identical to the Sony WH-1000XM2 and the all-new WH-1000XM4, the Sony WH-1000XM3 has deeper ear cushions and USB-C charging capability. Of course, you buy Sony wireless headphones also for their ability to effectively block out surrounding noise and sound quality. And in this regard, there was none better than the WH-1000XM3... until the WH-1000XM4 arrived.
