4K TVs already provide an incredibly sharp picture, so with an 8K the picture quality improves even more. With 8K, you can opt for really big screens, like 80 inches and up, before you can start to discern individual pixels on a display. Remember, however, to choose the size of the screen based on the size of your home: too large a screen can quickly become cumbersome and ruin your user experience.
This describes how many times per second an image is refreshed on the screen. It is normally expressed in Hertz (Hz). The standard refresh rate is 60 times per second, or 60 Hz. In scenes with fast-moving objects, a low refresh rate can make things blurry. Some newer models have high frame rate (HFR) support, which means they have both a higher refresh rate and additional support, for content with frame rates higher than 60 Hz.
This describes the range of brightness levels a set can display. Better contrast ratios display more subtle shadows and tints, and thus better detail. However, the way manufacturers measure these ratios varies considerably. Nevertheless, it's always best to see for yourself how a TV displays shadow detail by finding a movie with dark scenes and seeing how much detail it reveals in the shadows of, say, a Harry Potter movie. Experiment with the TV's brightness, sharpness, and other picture settings.
If you see this term in the description of an 8K TV, it means that the actual frame rate is half of the stated rate. You should look for a TV with a refresh rate of at least 120 Hz.
All of
today's 8K TVs will excel in HDR, thanks to their high peak brightness and wide color gamut, which allows them to produce a more vibrant picture than the standard dynamic range TVs of the past. However, there is a difference between the various models on the market: while they may all support HDR10, they differ in their support for high-end HDR formats.
An 8K TV is a TV with a screen of 7,680 horizontal pixels and 4,320 vertical pixels for a total of about 33 million pixels. The "K" in 8K stands for "kilo (1 000). Basically, the 8K TV achieves a horizontal resolution of about 8,000 pixels.
The 8K display resolution is the successor to the 4K resolution. The first 8K TVs were unveiled in 2019 at CES. The feasibility of a rapid transition to this new standard is questionable given the lack of broadcast resources.
It is predicted that 8K-capable sets will still only account for 3% of UHD TVs by 2023 with global sales of 11 million units per year. However, TV manufacturers remain optimistic as the 4K market has grown much faster than expected, with actual sales exceeding forecasts by nearly six times in 2016.
You should always do a feature test before deciding on a TV. The quickest way is to test the contrast ratio, brightness and picture sharpness to determine if you are buying the right one or not. To do this, select movie or cinema mode and you will have your own assessment.
The term QLED stands for Quantum Dot LED, it is a technology that has been popularized by SAMSUNG. Displays with this technology have a backlight, and offer a better brightness as a result. TVs that run on QLED offer particularly good dynamic depth. One notable drawback of QLEDs is that they still can't achieve a similar or better contrast ratio than OLED displays. They also have a lower viewing angle, compared to OLED displays.
The OLED (organic LED) technology, meanwhile, is carried by LG. This system uses individual bulbs to create an image. As a result, no backlighting is required. These screens offer vivid colors, true blacks and a wider viewing angle than QLED screens. That said, OLED displays are generally more expensive.
Both technologies will provide you with a great user experience. However, if you are looking for perfection and don't mind shelling out money for it, you can opt for 8K OLED TVs.
The most detailed and realistic image ever seen
You've never seen anything like it. Where Full HD surprised us all when it arrived and 4K delivered even more compelling and engaging results, 8K goes much further. The resolution here is four times that of 4K, as it has twice the number of pixels horizontally and vertically. That means it's 16 times the resolution of Full HD. When there are that many pixels, more than 33 million, since you ask, it means you can sit closer to the TV without seeing the dots that make up the image. This makes it a totally immersive experience, taking up more of your field of vision and drawing you in completely.
Scaling means you can see the benefits now
But there are no 8K programs, you might say. That's true, and it would be a problem if it weren't for the fact that this TV can enhance content pretty much seamlessly. It can take 4K content, or even HD programming, upgrade to 8K. That's because it uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to analyze images, improve detail and sharpen edges to 8K levels. And it can do this while reducing image noise. Colors look punchy and rich, while remaining realistic and true to life.

The location of the cables must therefore be easy to access, especially if you have a range of connected devices. Make sure your TV's support is reliable.

you choose a wall mount or other stand, make sure it can support your TV well! The more the volume increases, the more the sound effects will be felt. An unreliable stand could damage your 8K. It's better to choose a wall-mounted unit rather than one with a base. With wall mounts, the risks are less and the worry is eliminated.

at the moment.
There are a few samples, there is support for 8K resolution on Vimeo, and Japanese broadcaster NHK is aiming to film the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 8K (if that happens), but otherwise, implementation is not widespread.There is no support for optical discs, Netflix does not offer any 8K content, and it's also not a widely used format for capturing content. That could change, as some smartphones, like the Samsung Galaxy S20, offer 8K capture. But it's far from a widely available studio standard. So 8K in the present and foreseeable future remains a matter of upscaling. What will 8K upscaling do? It will use AI to analyze images and correct them, boost color and replace information that might be missing by analyzing previous images. It will sharpen edges, remove jagged edges on things like text, and reduce noise in areas where there isn't much data - like the block color of a blue sky for example.
It
depends largely on who you are and what you require from your TV. Let's separate the argument from resolution: a flagship TV is designed to deliver the best performance, no matter what content you put on it. It's also the company's 8K TV, and the upscaling performance is excellent. So, buying a high-end 8K has some merit, as you're not just buying resolution. At the same time, the lack of 8K content from a convenient source could be a barrier to adoption for many people. We're sure this will happen over the next 3-5 years, by which time we expect 8K to be much more mainstream. With that in mind - and the average lifespan of a TV being about 5 years at least, there is probably a lot of evolution to come before you are natively watching 8K content and getting the most out of an 8K TV.
It's
not recommended to buy a "cheap" 8K TV, because if you don't buy quality, you probably won't get a great 8K experience
For
the five-star 8K sets currently on sale, you pay a premium for quality. Of course, the prices are only economical for a wealthy minority of buyers; for everyone else, buying a TV with very little native content can only be described as a luxury purchase, regardless of the impressive specs. Competitive price reductions will be what makes 8K affordable enough for a larger minority of TV buyers. Although given the powerful specs of 8K TVs, as well as the fact that the majority of them are 75 inches or larger, manufacturers probably can't discount them too much and make a profit. If any company were to make 8K more accessible to mainstream consumers, TCL and its Roku 8 series would be a safe bet, but even that's not a guarantee.
It
seems unlikely that Netflix would do it. Indeed, in a 2016 interview with Digital Spy, Netflix CPO Neil Hunt said that 8K output "is only interesting if you're going to sit too close to the TV." However, with the advent of new streaming services like Disney+, other services are reportedly starting to differentiate themselves from the competition by adding as much 8K video as possible.
