The resolution refers to the number of pixels that make up the image that we see on the screen. For TVs, it is expressed in terms of horizontal and vertical lines. The more pixels there are, the sharper and more detailed the image. Choosing a 65-inch TV with the highest resolution will always be better.
For many years, Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), has been the standard and remains the most common resolution among TVs on the consumer market. However, TV manufacturers are increasingly turning to 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels), which offers four times more pixels than Full HD. For a 65-inch TV, it is advisable to opt for a 4K resolution. In fact, all the models presented in this guide have at least a 4K resolution.
HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a new feature of 4K TVs that stands for "high dynamic range." It refers to a TV's ability to deliver more color, more brightness, and better contrast. HDR is essentially an upgrade found on 4K and 8K TVs, but does not apply to Full HD TVs.
The baseline standard for high dynamic range content is called HDR10, as defined by the UHD Alliance. Dozens of companies support this basic minimum specification for HDR compatibility, so you'll see "HDR10" or "Ultra HD Premium" on the majority of the latest 65-inch TVs. Dolby Vision is a more demanding version of HDR.
Therefresh rate is expressed in Hertz (Hz). It refers to the number of times per second that an image is refreshed on the screen. The standard refresh rate is 60 fps, or 60 Hz. However, in scenes with fast-moving objects, a 60 Hz refresh rate can cause motion blur. So, to create a more solid and fluid image, manufacturers have doubled the refresh rate to 120 Hz, which is perfect for 65-inch TVs.
Gamers will be especially eager for higher refresh rates, but if you're using a console like the PS4 or Xbox One, 60 Hz is more than enough. On the other hand, on PCs and next-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X or S), it's best to go for 120 Hz or even 240 Hz refresh rates.
Wecan sometimes forget this, but pay attention to the number of HDMI ports on a 65-inch TV. Manufacturers looking to cut costs may offer fewer HDMI ports. Those ports can quickly find a buyer: add a soundbar, a Roku or Chromecast, and a game console, and you've already used three ports.
If you've decided to take the plunge and get a 65-inch TV, make sure it supports HDMI 2.0 at a minimum. Many TVs on the market have only one port that supports the 4K copy protection scheme known as HDCP 2.2 (high-bandwidth digital content protection).

Many Ultra HD TVs also enhance the picture in other ways, including improved contrast and a wider color gamut.
While the size of a TV doesn't affect its resolution; you're more likely to see the enhanced detail of 4K on 65-inch screens than on a 45-, 47-, or 50-inch display. 4K content is starting to become more and more available on video sharing and VOD sites. There are also currently 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray players that can play 4K content, including movies and series.
