It involves adding wet paint to a wet surface. Here is a simple activity that can help you get familiar with this technique.
1. Start by wetting your brush with clear water and "painting" two rectangles.
2. The rectangles will be hard to see because there is no pigment, but if you tilt your head a little, you can see where you applied the water.
3. Take some moistened paint from your palette and add color to your wet rectangle.
4. In your second rectangle, simply add dabs of paint. This is a great activity to start measuring how much water and paint you prefer to use.
